Adding fingerings to notes can enhance your music notation by providing clear instructions for playing. Follow these steps to add fingerings effectively:
Step 1: Enable Fingerings on Note Markers
- Open your fretboard settings.
- Ensure that fingerings are set to display on the note marker labels. Look for a small warning triangle next to the list; hover over it to get more information on what to do next. ⚠️
Step 2: Add Fingerings to Notes
- Select the Note: Click on the note where you want to add the fingering. 🎵
- Open the Fingering Menu: Hold down the Control key (or right-click) to bring up a context menu. 🖱️
- Set Fingerings: Choose the "Set Fingerings" option from the menu. You’ll then be able to type in the desired fingering for the selected note. ✍️
Select All Notes:
- Use Edit > Select All Notes or the right-click menu to select all notes at once.
- Shortcut: Press Command (⌘) + ↑ + A (Mac)
Apply Fingerings:
- With all notes selected, you should be able to type in the desired fingerings for the entire selection more quickly.
