The Align/Match Size/Distribute toolbar provides tools to adjust the alignment, size and spacing of items on the page.
The Align, Match Size and Distribute tools
The Master Selection
The Alignment and Match Size tools are driven by the Master selection. When you select multiple items on a page you may have noticed that the first one selected has solid black box selection handles and that the others have empty box selection handles around them: the one with the black ones is the master and alignment/resizing occurs relative to this item. You can see an example of this below.
The Master selection is the item on the left - it has solid black selection handles around it
Alignment
The alignment tools will become enabled once two or more diagram items are selected. The selected items will be moved so they become appropriately aligned with the master selection.
Align left | Align top | ||
Align horizontal centre | Align vertical centre
Align right | Align bottom |
Match Size
The Match Size tools will become enabled once two or more diagram items are selected. The width/height of the selected items will be set to match that of the master selection.
Match width | Match height |
When you're using Match Size when you have only fretboards selected, Neck Diagrams cleverly matches the sizes of the actual fretboards themselves, not the whole fretboard item. So, if you have one fretboard selected which is showing fret numbers but the other isn't you will get fretboards that are the same size irrespective of the increased edge of one of the fretboards due to the wider edge containing the fretboard numbers!
Distribute
The Distribute tools will become enabled once three or more diagram items are selected.
Distribute horizontally | Repositions all selected items (excluding the leftmost and rightmost) so that the center points of each item are equally spaced between the leftmost and rightmost items in the selection
Distribute vertically | Repositions all selected items (excluding the highest and lowest) so that the center points of each item are equally spaced between the highest and lowest items in the selection |
Below is an example of horizontal distribution, showing the layout of items before and after horizontal distribution.
Some items that aren't evenly spaced...
...and after horizontal distribution they are now evenly spaced between the leftmost and rightmost items
