Reorganizing Fretboards in Your Document

When reorganizing fretboards within your document, you may find it necessary to make adjustments manually to accommodate new layouts. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:

1. Prepare for Reorganization

   • Begin by creating space for new fretboards. You don’t need to clear all the necessary room immediately; just enough to select and visualize the new or existing fretboards.

2. Adjusting Rows of Fretboards

   • To add a new row of fretboards, select the last row and move them upwards slightly.
   • Use the marquee tool to click and drag around the fretboards you wish to select. Ensure you capture all parts belonging to the fretboards, especially titles and fret numbers. 
     • Alternatively, hold down the SHIFT key while clicking on each fretboard to select multiple ones.
     • Once selected, click and drag one of the fretboards upward. All selected fretboards will move together.

3. Adding Columns of Fretboards

   • To add a column, select the fretboards in the last column and move them sideways as needed.

4. Cloning Rows

   • With the row of fretboards still selected, hold down the CTRL key (or ALT/Option on Mac) and drag a fretboard downwards into the empty space.
   • Keep the newly cloned fretboards aligned as you drag, following the blue guideline for precision.

5. Resizing Fretboards

   • After adding new rows or columns, select all fretboards by going to Edit > Select All Fretboards (or right-click on any fretboard and choose the option).
   • Adjust the size of the fretboards by clicking and dragging the handles around the edges. Drag the bottom-middle handle upwards to decrease the height uniformly for all selected fretboards.
   • Maintain aspect ratio by holding SHIFT while resizing. Holding ALT will resize equally from both ends

6. Aligning Rows

• • • Use the 'Distribute Vertically' toolbar button to align fretboards in columns. Select a column of fretboards and click the button to automatically distribute them evenly 

7. Finalize

• • • Repeat the distribution process for each column until all fretboards are neatly aligned in your document.

Remember, this process becomes quicker with practice. Once you understand the workflow, reorganizing fretboards will become more efficient.
